Are more police officers the answer to tackling the city #039;s violence? Some Louisville Metro Council members say they want to hire 100 of them, but are frustrated with the police department #039;s lack of answers.
Louisville Metro Police Chief Steve Conrad admitted that he needs more police officers Wednesday afternoon, but wouldn #039;t tell council members how many.
At Metro Council #039;s Public Safety Committee meeting, Conrad fielded questions about a resolution to put aside money to hire 100 new police officers, which could cost around $9 million.

Louisville Metro Councilman David James says he entered a gay-friendly health spa that he alleges is a quot;sex club quot; by using an ID he found on the sidewalk.
quot;I didn #039;t want to use my name because I thought somebody might recognize my name and wouldn #039;t let me in to see what was going on, quot; said James, D-6th District, who is opposing expansion plans by the owners of Vapor Spa in Smoketown.
To enter the spa, which promotes itself as a health and fitness center for gay men, a person must be at least 18 years old and present legal identification. Pressed on the name on the identification card, James said he couldn #039;t remember. quot;I don #039;t even have the ID anymore, quot; he said.
